A friend of mine doesn't like using chemicals on her hair and therefore doesn't condition, but she likes to straighten it and doing it w/o conditioner is really killing her hair. Any tips on how to nicely condition hair without any chemicals to protect it from straightening damage?
How to naturally condition hair?
Everything is made up of chemicals, I don't think she really knows what she is talking about when she says she doesn't like to use chemicals on her hair. Even things that are natural are composed of chemicals. Some chemicals are not good for you hair, others protect your hair. But if she wants something she considers 'natural' I'd suggest mayonaise.
I find it odd that she thinks chemicals are damaging to her hair but not straightening her hair. But avoiding conditioner won't damage your hair, many people don't need to use a conditioner, especially if their hair get oily really quickly. What she needs is a styling product that will protect her hair from heat. And those all have chemicals to protect hair.
For conditioner: shampoo hair. rinse. put a teaspoon of mayonaise on the ends of your hair, about up to your ears. you don't need it on your scalp, that will just make your hair get greasy quicker. let it sit for a couple of minutes. rinse
