SMALL sections at a time... and if you have LOTS of hair, that's curly or kinky or wavy, you might want to spend a pretty penny on a ceramic straightener.... the cheap ones dont work on my hair, and mines not curly or anything, just really fluffly lol
I'm using a hair straightner for the first time, any tips?
1. NEVER press down heard. If you do, you might set a fire, or you may damage your hair.
2. Go slowly down your hair, but dont press down hard.

Never keep the straightner on one spot %26amp; move down-that burns your hair.
If you are going to use it a lot, make sure you use leave-in conditioner to help protect your hair.
Don't buy a cheap one, the more money you spend on one, the better the result.
Don't straighten your hair while it's wet. Even if the straightner says "Wet-to Dry", it still damages your hair.
If your hair is extremely curly or wavy, blow dry it first %26amp; then straighten it.
I would recommend that you use a good leave-in conditioner %26amp; some kind of frizz control oil.

use 2 inch thick pieces of hair.
apply even pressure throughout or youll get kinks
use a shine spray to set it
only straighten ur hair 1-2 times a week 3x at most!
what works for me really well even with a cheap iron, is to have a fine tooth comb and slowly comb through hair following through closely behind with the iron.
use these tips and u cant go wrong!
