Showering or wetting your head will not make you sick. I hope you're drying your hair before going out into the cold though...
Invest in some excellent deep conditioner. Shampoo your hair only once every three days- wet it or only use conditioner in the mean time. Use the deep conditioner as often as it recommends for that particular brand. While your hair is wet after your shower, comb it with a wide tooth comb or pick. Add something like 'Silk'. It acts as a detangler and a protectant. (And smells yummy.) Put a diffuser on your blow dryer and use it. Best of luck to you.

i have curly hair too!! i wash my hair every morning before school and i put gel in my hands and scrunch my hair and dry it upside down
Ok well I have curly hair and...?
get it chemically relaxed at a salon and invest in a good flat iron, i reccomend chi, paul mitchell, and jilbere for brands. the relaxing will make the straightening alot easier to do. also ask a stylist about some good products to help straighten your hair and keep it straight and frizz/poof free all day =]
hope i helped.

I don't understand why you are getting sick with wet hair, if it's b/c you go out in the cold when it's wet or something, but....you are going to need your hair wet to do it, that's about the bottom line for curly haired people. If washing everyday gets it too dry, only shampoo every other day or less and use lots of conditioner and don't rise all of the conditioner out, your hair should still feel slippery when you get out. Then try putting in a smoothing serum (try Paul Mitchell super skinny serum) or a leave in conditioner and comb that through your hair. Try scrunching your hair with gel or mousse while wet. After you put the product in your hair, start by cupping the ends of your hair and bringing your hand to your head then scrunch. If you can't go out with wet hair try using a diffuser, which is a blow dryer for curly hair. Putting product in dry hair will never make it look good and brushing dried curly hair will generally always make it frizzy.

I have super super curly hair that I have lived with my whole life and trust me, I've tried every product in the market. Here are some tips to try..
1. Try relaxing it. It's not the best thing for your hair but if you only leave it in for about half the time and use the "regular" not the "super" and take care of your hair afterwards it might help. I've done this once about 10 years ago and every 4 months I touch up my roots only. Makes your hair alot easier to deal with.
2. Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner: I use Abba's "Moisture Scentsation" or Enjoy. Both work great. While the conditioner is in my hair in the shower, I used a large comb to brush my hair out in sections, much easier than trying to brush it after I get out of the shower. Abba also makes a great leave in conditioner.
2. I use Suave mousse. It's cheap and it works the best. I've tried expensive mousse and they are garbarge. Mousse your hair in sections. I usually split my hair into 3 sections and make sure all the hair has been moussed.
3. Fructise makes a soft curl cream that I use over the mouse. Take about a half dollar size blob and run in through all your hair. I try to keep my curls in thick chunks so that they don't get frizzy.
4. Buy a good blowdryer with a diffuser. don't diffuse your hair until it's completely dry. Only diffuse it about half way.
5. Gloss. I love gloss. I use biosilk, but that can get expensive sometimes, so a cheaper alternative is one you can find in the supermarket called citrus shine. I use about a quarter size amount and scrunch my hair with it to make it shiny and healthy looking. I do this every morning.
That's about it. I do this and I only have to wash my hair every 3-4 days. use a shower cap in the shower everyday so that your hair doesn't get wet.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
